Joeann Argue is an Anishnaabekwe and settler currently residing on Michi Saagiig land. She is a musician, artist, mom, dog rescuer, and professor in Indigenous Performance at Trent University. Every year, 60 students with a wide variety of backgrounds and musical abilities take her Contemporary Indigenous Music performance class and live to tell the tale. Joeann also teaches storytelling and performance and is a maker of traditional instruments and beadwork. She is a founding member of Unity, the four-women Indigenous vocal ensemble that has been bringing traditional and contemporary Indigenous music to a variety of venues since 2004. 
New in 2022, Joeann is the founder of Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival.
