Claudio Engli has been a musician and teacher for more than forty years. He has studied in Canada and abroad in United States and Europe, working with some of the finest tuba players in the world. He has greatly enjoyed the wide experience gained by these opportunities and enthusiastically passes along his knowledge and passion to musicians of all ages.

Claudio’s career started in Peterborough at the age of 16 and he went on to achieve an undergraduate music degree from the University of Western Ontario, then a Masters Degree in Performance at Northwestern University in Chicago where he began to study conducting. Over the next few decades he worked extensively as Principal Tuba for the London Symphony Orchestra in Ontario. Concurrently, he was an adjunct professor in low brass at Queen’s University and maintained an active freelance career throughout Ontario.

He has performed hundreds of school concerts called Claudio and His Family of Tubas. Claudio has instructed at various music camps and serves as an adjudicator for the Kiwanis Music Festival. Claudio also held full-time teaching positions in music at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts and University of Toronto Schools in Toronto. He is currently the Music Director and Conductor of the Lift Lock New Horizons Bands in Peterborough and the Music Director and Choirmaster for St. Peter-In-Chains Cathedral in Peterborough.
