Participants should prepare, in advance, one to three songs for performance in class throughout the week. The amount of performance time in class will depend on class enrolment. It is preferable, but not mandatory, that songs be memorized. Participants will take turns performing for the class and Irene will address technique, musicianship and interpretation. For musical theatre songs, acting and understanding the characters and plot of the show is strongly recommended. Participants can also choose partners to prepare a duet or a trio for performance in class. Please bring enough legible copies for the piano accompanist and your potential partner.
This class is open to intermediate/advanced singers of musical theatre and classical music. Participants perform for the class, but not the end-of-week concerts. Other opportunities to perform include evening concerts on earlier in the week. This class has limited enrolment.
