Musical Theatre with Ellen Vesterdal
Christopher Levan, choreographer
Kristina Nojd, accompanist
Janina Kraus, workshop accompanist

One of the great accomplishments of our annual program is Musical Theatre. In only one week (about 6 hours of rehearsal), a condensed (about 20 minutes) version of a musical such as West Side Story, Fiddler on The Roof or Guys and Dolls comes together for performance at the end of the week. A concurrent offstage vocal workshop with accompanist is available for extra coaching to performers in the ensemble.

Offering solo and chorus roles, this fun class brings together all ages with beginner and advanced singing abilities. Recent presentations: 2018 Brigadoon; 2017 Oklahoma!; 2016 The Music Man; 2015 The Pirates of Penzance; 2014 Jesus Christ Superstar; 2013 Grease; 2012 The Wizard of Oz. This year's production is Mama Mia.

Is this class for you?

Vocals only, no experience necessary.

Christopher Levan, pastor, professor and parent, has spent his life working with words—words that move and inspire. His day job is in a church, and his life’s vocation is as a “reparador de sueños” -- “repairer of dreams,” …helping others to achieve their goals and ambitions. In the church world, that means growing a community of generosity. A creative spirit, playwright, novelist, baker, biker, and tour guide, Christopher resides on both Salt Spring Island in British Columbia and in Toronto with his wife Ellen Vesterdal.
