This instrumental ensemble will explore the bossa nova of Brazil, made popular by composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, Edu Lobo and Baden Powell. You’ll learn songs by some of these composers as well as the characteristics that define the genre.
For intermediate/advanced instrumentalists playing violin, viola, cello, flute, sax, clarinet, bass, piano, accordion, guitar, mandolin, percussion (cajón, pandeiro) and drum kit. Suitable for both improvisers and non-improvisers. Sight-reading skills required. This ensemble will perform at the end of the week. This class has limited enrolment.
