Drawing on traditional/folkloric repertoire from Ghana, West Africa, participants will learn to play hand and/or stick drumming/percussion repertoire, sing relevant songs and possibly learn some simple culturally appropriate movements (not mandatory). The material will be taught orally (listening, watching, doing) - no sight-reading is required, although participants are welcome to make notes.
No experience, sight-reading or instruments are required. Instruments are provided. This ensemble will perform at the end of the week.
