Alexia received a Bachelor of Music from Queen’s University and a Master of Music from McGill University in piano performance. She also has an Associate Diploma in piano performance, an Orchestral Training Program certificate in orchestral piano and management, and a Performance Diploma, all from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). Alexia was on the teaching faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music for 20 years before leaving to establish her own music studio in Toronto. She subsequently moved to the Peterborough area to follow a new path in environmental science. She is currently a PhD student at Trent University and is conducting research on airborne microplastic particles. Alexia’s research was primarily conducted in the environmental wind tunnel and should be completed by the time that we meet for camp in August (yeah!). Along with her studies in environmental science, Alexia is still actively involved in music and is the music director for Centreville-Harmony Church in South Monaghan. She has been collaborative pianist for both the Peterborough Singers and the Peterborough Pop Ensemble. Currently, she is collaborative pianist and co-artistic director of the Millbrook Community Choir. |
