The Art Song originated in the 19th-century Romantic era and feature poems adapted for voice and piano emphasizing emotional expression. Commonly in English, French (Mélodies) and German (Lieder).

In this class, music will be provided and you’ll learn about the form through group and individual singing with technique, musicianship and interpretation being addressed.

Is this class for you?

For intermediate/advanced singers with some experience singing with an accompanist.
Participants perform for the class, but not the end-of-week concerts. Other opportunities to perform include evening concerts earlier in the week.
This class has limited enrolment.
