Jazz pianist, vocalist and arranger Fern Lindzon moves comfortably and creatively through a highly-personal repertoire of her own arrangements of jazz standards, contemporary Israeli and Yiddish music and original compositions. Her second CD, Two Kites received a JUNO Nomination as Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Fern has also been an active member of several klezmer bands including the klezmer/swing vocal group “Sisters of Sheynville”, which won a Canadian Folk Music Award as Vocal Group of the Year. Fern performs at Jazz Festivals and clubs across Canada and her three CDs are frequently heard on the airwaves.

Fern teaches piano, jazz and pop vocals at Havergal College where she has also led Jazz Choir. At klezkanada (klezmer camp for adults and kids) she taught Beginner Orchestra. Fern was also the Arranger and Musical Director of “Jewish Radio Hour” recreating Yiddish radio shows from 1938 to the 50’s.

Fern is also one of the top scrabble players in Canada and is always willing to discuss tips and strategy!
