Participants should prepare, in advance, one to three songs for performance in class throughout the week. The amount of performance time in class will depend on class enrolment. It is preferable, but not mandatory, that songs be memorized. Participants will take turns performing for the class and technique, musicianship, interpretation will be addressed. For musical theatre songs, acting and understanding the characters and plot of the show is strongly recommended. Participants can also choose partners (taking this class) to prepare a duet or a trio for performance in class. Please bring enough legible copies for the piano accompanist and your potential partner. |
