Every Indigenous nation has different ways of expressing themselves through song, but music is integral to cultural expression in all of them. This class will explore social song traditions from several Indigenous nations. You will learn some of the history and development of Indigenous music and explore singing in different languages and styles. Traditional instruments will also be available to try.
This is a group instruction class. For all levels of singing ability, sight-reading not required. This class will perform at the end of the week.
