Appearing on the Naxos label and award-winning soundtracks, Laura Chambers is also a founding member of the ensemble Charm of Finches, Canada’s only professional flute quintet, performing standard repertoire and commissioning new works for flute ensemble.

Ms. Chambers has been featured as a concerto soloist, orchestral player, and chamber ensemble musician across North America. As a player of modern, baroque, and world flutes, Laura has been a featured soloist with the Mississauga Symphony and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, and a guest artist with the Toronto Symphony, the Glenn Gould Studio, and at the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival. Laura has also had the privilege of working with such artists as members of Nexus and composer Steve Reich as well as participating in a recent epic performance of The Rite of Spring in the deserts of Nevada. Her playing can also be heard on the 2018 Juno nominated soundtrack Cuphead.

An active member of the GTA freelance scene, Laura has had the pleasure of performing with many groups including the Niagara Symphony, the Talisker players, Aradia Ensemble, Toronto Concert Orchestra, and the Ontario Philharmonic. She is currently acting principal with the London Symphonia.

Ms. Chambers holds an Honours Bachelor of Performance from the University of Toronto and a Masters Degree from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where she studied under Professor James Walker. Previous teachers include Patrick Gallois, Susan Hoeppner, Camille Churchfield. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in music at York University.
