This class will be an introduction to 'melodic' percussion instruments (for example, tympani, xylophone) and to indefinite pitched instruments (the kind you hit or shake). Participants will gain experience playing both instrument families and learn a little about their context. The percussion world is vast, but you will see how a similar approach and technique is used across all of them, even the triangle. This class will not include drum kit.
