Chords are the foundation of songs, defining the harmony and supporting the melody. Knowing how chords work can help with technique, sight-reading, improvising and composing. Learning to chord on piano can also serve as a gateway to jazz, pop and jamming.
This introduction to chording on piano will provide a basis for future learning and practice beyond camp. Music will be provided, although participants can bring a piece they would like to work on.

Is this class for you?

This class is aimed at intermediate/advanced keyboard players with the ability to play piano at an RCM Grade 6 level and good reading skills.
A basic knowledge of chords/triads is recommended.
