Introduction to Celtic Fiddling with Alex Cheung

Participants will learn about the stylistic (bowing, ornamentation, etc.) differences between classical violin and Celtic fiddling, as well as different fiddling styles (Irish, Acadian, Country, etc.) and the rhythmic patterns of various fiddle tunes (Jigs, Reels, Waltzes, etc.). The group will learn to put several tunes together in a fiddle set.

Is this class for you?

For intermediate to advanced violin players able to play 1/16 notes at moderate tempo.
Good listening skills and sight-reading ability are very helpful.
This class will perform at the end of the week in a fun ceilidh-styled event.
